Weddings at Moonlight

For most of the families we host, a wedding is not one evening but several — a mehndi, a sangeet or jaggo, the ceremony, the reception, sometimes a walima. Moonlight is a single hall in NE Calgary that can carry all of them, so guests learn the way here once and the room changes around them each night.

The ceremony itself often happens elsewhere — an Anand Karaj at the gurdwara, pheras at the mandir, a nikah at the mosque or at home — and the families come to us for the celebration that follows. If you would like a ceremony in the hall, tell us what it involves, a sacred fire for example, and we will confirm what the room allows before you plan around it.

Cuisine, decor and the room come from one team, so the stage you approve at the consultation is the stage you walk onto. The reception evening has its own page under wedding receptions; this one covers the wedding as a whole.

  • Up to 500 guests

The full guest list in one room, with seating arranged to your final count rather than a fixed plan.

  • The whole week, one team

Book the mehndi, sangeet, jaggo and reception together and plan every night with the same people.

  • Five cuisines, one kitchen

Indian, Indo-Canadian, Pakistani, Lebanese and Western cooking, with halal on request and fully vegetarian menus.

  • Decor arranged in-house

Stage, entrance, aisle, tables and lighting designed together, rather than coordinated across separate suppliers.

How it comes together

From the first conversation to the last guest out — one team, start to finish.

  1. Dates for each event

Send us the dates you are considering for every event of the week. We reply the same day, including when a date has already gone.

  2. Tour the hall

Walk the room in about thirty minutes, lit as it is on an event night, and see where the stage, buffet and dance floor sit.

  3. Consultation and tasting

Build a menu for each night with our kitchen, taste the dishes and confirm every dietary need in writing.

  4. Decor and layout

Agree the stage design, palette and seating for each event, so the mehndi, the jaggo and the reception each look like their own night.

  5. The wedding week

We set the room for every event to the plan you approved, with the same team you met at the consultation.

The room

The hall holds up to 500 guests, with the stage at one end and the dance floor directly in front of it. For the reception most families choose round tables across the two seating areas, with the buffet along one wall; the smaller nights of the week often suit lounge or long-table layouts that make the same room feel closer. Send us your guest count for each event and we will plan a layout for every one — the hall layout page shows the parts of the room that stay fixed.

The menu

Every wedding menu is built with you at a consultation; there are no fixed packages to choose between. Many families pair two cuisines — Punjabi and Indo-Canadian, or Pakistani and Lebanese — so both sides of the family find something familiar. Fully vegetarian, Jain and satvik menus are prepared on request, halal is available, and every dietary need is confirmed in writing before the day. The full range is on our cuisine page.

What hosts planning weddings usually want to know. Anything else, ask us — we reply the same day.

Call (403) 483-4240See all FAQs

Can we hold the wedding ceremony in the hall?

Many families hold the ceremony at the gurdwara, mandir or mosque and come to us for the celebration. If you want it in the hall, tell us what the ceremony involves and we will confirm what the room allows before you plan around it.

Can we book several events across the wedding week?

Yes. Send us the dates for each event and we will check them together, then plan the menus and decor so each night feels distinct.

Is there parking for a large guest list?

Parking is free and on site, with step-free access through to the lobby. We are also a few minutes from Calgary International Airport, which helps when family fly in for the week.

How far ahead should we enquire?

As soon as you have dates in mind. We reply the same day and tell you honestly which of them are still open.

Tell us your date

We reply to every enquiry the same day — including the ones where the honest answer is that the date has gone.
