First birthdays to eightieths

Birthday parties for the milestone years

A first birthday for the whole extended family, a sixteenth, a fiftieth or a sixtieth — a birthday with the stage, the lighting and the food arranged in-house.

Birthday parties at Moonlight

In many families a birthday means a long guest list — a first birthday with both sides of the family and every cousin, or a sixtieth with friends of forty years. Those parties outgrow a house quickly, and they need a room where children can run, elders can sit comfortably and someone can give a speech without shouting.

We set the hall to the size of the party, with a stage for the cake cutting and the speeches, a dance floor in front of it and lighting in the birthday's colours. Food comes from our own kitchen, with milder plates for children and older guests served separately.

  • Kids' plates

Milder, softer dishes plated separately, so the youngest guests can eat early.

  • A stage for the cake

A raised stage for the cake cutting, the speeches and the family photograph.

  • The birthday's colours

Programmable lighting set to the party's palette and changed when the dancing starts.

  • Easy for every guest

Free on-site parking and step-free access to the lobby, for grandparents and prams alike.

How it comes together

From the first conversation to the last guest out — one team, start to finish.

  1. Enquiry

Tell us the date, the birthday being celebrated and roughly how many are coming.

  2. Theme and menu

Agree the palette, stage and table styling, and build the menu at a consultation with a tasting.

  3. The party

Guests arrive, eat and settle in before the cake cutting and speeches on stage.

  4. Dancing

The floor opens, with late-night food arranged in advance if the party runs long.

The room

Birthday parties come in every size, from a hundred relatives to several hundred guests, up to 500. Round tables suit most of them; for a first birthday we keep space near the stage for children and set a few tables close to the buffet for grandparents. Long tables can work well for a sixtieth or seventieth, when the family wants to sit as one group.

The menu

Birthday menus tend to please a crowd — Indo-Canadian crossover dishes, a Punjabi buffet, a Lebanese mezze spread or a Western dinner, often with a live counter the younger guests will queue for. Kids' plates are milder and served separately, and gluten-free, vegan and allergy-aware dishes are planned so every parent knows what is safe. The menu is built with you at a consultation rather than chosen from a package; our cuisine page shows what the kitchen cooks.

Questions we're asked

What hosts planning birthday parties usually want to know. Anything else, ask us — we reply the same day.

Call (403) 483-4240See all FAQs

Do you host first birthday parties?

Yes. A first birthday often brings the whole extended family, so we plan the room with space for children near the front and comfortable seating for grandparents.

Is there food for young children?

Yes. Kids' plates are milder and softer and served separately, and allergy-aware dishes are confirmed in writing before the day.

Will a smaller party feel lost in the hall?

We arrange the seating to your guest count, so a smaller party is laid out to feel full. Come for a tour and we will show you how.

Can we show photographs or a video message?

Yes. The screen and in-house sound are there for a slideshow, a video from family abroad or the speeches.

Tell us your date

We reply to every enquiry the same day — including the ones where the honest answer is that the date has gone.
